'Revolutionary' Well-Map on display in Houston

A new acoustic-inspection tool is being shown at OTC. The Well-Map has been developed by Aberdeen-based Offshore Marine Technology (OMT).
The firm says it fills a gap in both the decommissioning and well-integrity sectors.
Chief executive Peter Farthing said: "The core Well-Map technology is focused on pipe inspection and pigging, as well as other applications outside the oil and gas industry. It has the potential to replace memory calipers and is set to revolutionise the industry by allowing single deployment, multiple data-set collection. This offers far greater accuracy and reliability than any tool now on the market, and operators can also expect significant time and cost savings."
Mr Farthing founded OMT in October 2007 with the aim of capturing a major share of the inspection market. It now employs seven, including a team of engineers.
OMT is supported by Scottish Enterprise and has attracted investment from across the oil and gas sector. Its annual turnover now stands at £750,000.
